Posted on: 08/19/2016

Olean General Hospital will present “Addiction…it’s not a choice” Wednesday, September 7 at the Education Center at OGH.

Presented by Bradford Regional Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Services staff members Jacqueline Shine-Dixon, MBA, BS, CCSM, CCDP, system director, and Mary Anne Polucci Sherman, MA, licensed psychologist, the program will offer a unique look at addiction from the user’s perspective and that addiction is a neurobiological disorder that needs to be treated as such. The presentation is part of OGH’s ongoing Community Breakfast Series.

The series is free and open to the public. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m. with the presentation from 8:15 to 9 a.m. Seating is limited. To make reservations, call Jenny Territo, OGH community outreach coordinator, at 716/375-7518 or email

Additional programs in the series include: Advanced Directives, October 5; and Friends and Family CPR, November 2.
