OGH Conducted Cardiovascular Screenings
Posted on: 08/21/2009
On August 19, David DiMarco, M.D., Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon, and the Olean General Hospital Diagnostic Imaging team received a dozen patients for the first in a series of cardiovascular screening programs for persons age 55 or older.
For a low $25.00 fee, participants receive tests for vascular disease, including stroke, carotid artery, abdomen aortic aneurysm, and peripheral artery disease. Dr. DiMarco provides a consultation and reviews each patients’ results. The final screening results are forwarded to the patient’s physician.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the country. More than half of Americans will die from complications of atherosclerosis, the most common cause of cardiovascular disease. The cardiovascular screening program at Olean General Hospital stresses the importance of early detection of this silent disease.
Please call (716)375-6260 for further details. The number of participants is limited so, reservations are being accepted for future screening dates.
