Annual Campaign
A wedding and a funeral – not events normally associated with hospitals. But somehow, between the beeping monitors, code blues and flashing call lights, our staff and physicians scurried to organize these two events recently in an effort to treat more than our patient’s medical problems. Both events represented special requests by patients and families with unique needs, needs that our dedicated staff hurried to meet without hesitation.
As we look back over the past year, a most remarkable transition has become apparent. It simply cannot be missed. Our community is coming together and ordinary people are doing extraordinary things. Random Acts of Kindness are witnessed every day.
What we get from these accounts is a sense of life here. Community hospitals such as ours offer more than critical care and complex medicine. This is a place in which neighbors faithfully take care of neighbors – someone here knows your name!
People like you have noticed and stepped forward by partnering and investing resources to ensure we can continue to keep up with fast paced advances in healthcare and still provide care with a heart. Lives are enriched and the quality of care is advanced. And sometimes more than hearts are warmed. One donor provided a blanket warmer just so patients could feel safe and secure – to bring a little bit of home to the hospital. Our Annual Report, which recently appeared as an insert in the Olean Times Herald, is filled with stories demonstrating the power of gifts and what they have accomplished.
